The Stilletto Chick on “Good Gender Physics”

February 18th, 2010, by Will Campbell

Betty-Ann Heggie, a former executive at Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. and the woman behind The Stilletto Chick website, newsletter and blog believes in a state of “Good Gender Physics”. For example, a balance between feminine and masculine energies in the workplace can lead to higher levels of innovation and a stronger bottom line, and suggests that institutions like the military, an organization dominated by masculine energy, might come closer to accomplishing many of its objectives if a little feminine energy were sprinkled in. She says female energy has very little to do with gender and sexual orientation, but has everything to do with the principles of inclusiveness, openness, and acceptance – all of which are sorely lacking in military culture. Heggie spends her time speaking to companies and organizations on the benefits of finding a cultural balance of masculine and feminine energy, and she joins us to discuss the topic today.
