CIUT FM

California based indie-pop band, Avi Buffalo, will join us in studio for a live performance on Tuesday August 3rd, 2010. The band will play at 11am in the Hart House Chapel. Their self-titled debut album was released this past April.

Take5 host, David Peterson, will spotlight several artists from Wednesday August 4th to Friday August 6th, 2010 from 8-10am. Artists include: Lone Wolf (Leeds, UK), The Wild Beasts (UK) and The Kissaway Trail (Denmark). Tune in for your chance to CDs, special prize packs and concert tickets.

Based in The Netherlands, Templo Diez “provides the soundtrack for your daydreams”. They describe their sound as a mix of slow-core, alt-country with very twisted pop. The band will perform live at CIUT on Thursday June 17th, 2010. Catch them here or at North by North East on June 18th.

Toronto’s own Alejandra Ribera will perform live at CIUT on Thursday June 17th, 2010. The Globe and Mail describes her music as , “…an earthy mix of world music, coffee house jazz, dark themes lyrically and timeless cabaret. Imagine Louis Armstrong, Tom Waits and Chavela Vargas downing shots in a Barcelona bordello. ”

Carmen Souza will be live on CIUT’s morning program, Take5, for an interview with host, Dave Peterson. Souza performs music that mixes the flavors of jazz and Afro-beat. You can see her perform live as part of Luminato at the Global Divas event at Queens Park on June 19th.
